Law Society launches Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme

Law Society launches Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme

The Law Society is to launch a Wills and Inheritance Quality Scheme at the end of October 2013 which will provide a quality standard for wills, probate and estate administration practices.

The Law Society state that membership of the scheme will be based upon:

  • the integrity of the Senior Responsible Officer, practitioners and staff involved in will writing and estate administration;
  • the firm’s adherence to good practice management standards;
  • adherence to the scheme Protocol, setting standards in quality client care.

The scheme, whihc is designed for SRA-regulated firms that specialise in will writing, probate and estate administration work, will ensure that the excellent service and professional guarantee offered by solicitors in this practice area are recognised by the public.

Once the scheme gets underway, members of the public will be able to find the closest Wills and Inheritance Quality member practice, by visiting the Law Society’s accreditation search website where they will be able to search by postcode for a firm that has met and maintains the appropriate standards and practices.
