Interim CEO appointed at Legal Ombudsman

Interim CEO appointed at Legal Ombudsman

Following the shock departure of Chief Legal Ombudsman, Adam Sampson last month, the Office for Legal Complaints has now appointed Ian Brack to the position of Interim Chief Executive Officer for the Legal Ombudsman.

Ian was previously CEO and Chief Accounting Officer of the Olympic Lottery Distributor and is an experienced leader with a reputation for overseeing dynamic change and managing complex stakeholder relationships.

Mr Sampson resigned from his role after a controversy about travel expenses meant that the LeO’s accounts are likely to be qualified by the National Audit Office – although an investigation revealed that Mr Sampson had acted with good intentions.

Chair of the Office for Legal Complaints, Steve Green, said:

“We are delighted to have Ian on board. He has a good record managing large budgets and a varied portfolio of work. This experience should serve him well at the Ombudsman, where we face a number of imminent challenges including our new claims management jurisdiction in January.”

Mr Brack has been appointed on an initial six month contract.
