ILEX Professional Standards’ becomes ‘CILEx Regulation’

ILEX Professional Standards (IPS) has changed its name to CILEx Regulation.

The change, which came into effect on 23 March, follows parliamentary approval for IPS to award practice rights and authorise legal entities. The new name will reflect CILEx Regulation’s extended role as the regulator for Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) members, other specialist lawyers and legal businesses.

Ian Watson, Chief Executive of CILEx Regulation said:

“Our new name better reflects the current and future direction of the organisation, to be the regulator of choice for Chartered Legal Executives, CILEx Practitioners and law firms looking for a regulatory model that suits their business model. We look forward to welcoming all specialist lawyers into regulation under the CILEx umbrella.”

The new company name, branding and website will be unveiled at an official launch event on Thursday, 26 March, at the London headquarters of Marsh, one of the UK’s leading insurance broker and risk management companies.
