Straightforward and clear employment advice for employees and individuals
Becoming caught up in an employment related problem at work is never easy – and the fact that you are a legal professional does not mean that you will necessarily understand or have particular knowledge of what can at times be confusing and complex rules and regulations.
The Lawyers Defence Group has a significant experience in helping employees with legal disputes that may arise and we have assisted many senior employees and executives with a wide range of problems. In particular, we have substantial experience in dealing with the kind of issues likely to be encountered in legal practice including negotiating compromise agreements and redundancy packages, advising on disciplinary and grievance processes, the implications of garden leave, confidentiality issues and restrictive covenant issues.
We will always be upfront with you about the costs of any proposed proceedings and will work with you to identify the most useful and cost-effective strategy for you to take – whether that be through negotiation or litigation.
Avoiding unnecessary expense
We will always try and work with you in ensuring that the settlement you achieve is appropriate – both in terms of the outcome and the cost in both time and money. We will always be alert to the opportunities for a settlement to be achieved without needing to resort to expensive litigation.
For example, if your employer has offered you a compromise agreement, we will give you straightforward advice about the deal you have been offered and whether to take it. We will also negotiate with your employer to achieve the best possible outcome for you.
Where appropriate we will always assist you in looking at alternative methods of funding any legal work that is required – for example by exploring whether you are covered for legal costs under the terms of any household or personal insurance.
Preventing you from being treated unfairly
We can assist all employees who feel they have been treated unfairly by their employer and we will always give you a frank assessment of the chances of your claim being successful and possible compensation levels.
