The Office for Legal Complaints (OLC) has been established by the Legal Services Act 2007 to make sure users of legal services can go to an independent and impartial Ombudsman scheme to resolve disputes involving their lawyer. It will be the single body for all consumer legal complaints and as such will replace the functions currently undertaken by a number of different bodies including the Legal Complaints Service and Bar Standards Board.
The OLC will begin to resolve complaints in the second half of 2010.
